The date of the horse parade was fixed for Wednesday, the eighth of October, The matter of arranging a new lease of the old Show ground site was left in the hands of the President, Vice-presi-dent and Mr Foster. Air Marsh asked If anything had been done In the matter of approaching Wyndham Racing Club for a special prize to he awarded In the taction for Thoroughbred Horses. Such a course had already been agreed to on the speaker’s motion. —Air P. Campbell, jnr., said the Racing Club, while favourably entertaining the proposal, had not committed themselves definitely to it. But he believed they would come to such a determination, If again approached on the mat tor. —Air Angus Campbell took a similarly hopeful view.—Resolved, on the motion of Messrs Foster and P. Campbell, that application be again made to Wyndham Racing Club for a donation on the lines laid down. Mr P. Campbell, junr.. said that as the firm of P, Campbell and Sons bad been fortunate in winning outright the five-guinea trophy donated for "most points in show,’’ they were very pleased to give a trophy of similar value, to be competed for as the executive thought best. The only suggestion they would make was that it should be won three times, not necessarily in successive years. The trophy (which the speaker here produced) took the shape of a silver cup, which he had much pleasure in placing in the custody of the President.—The President, in returning thanks to Alessrs P. Campbell and Sons for their generosity, said it gave him great pleasure in accepting the handsome cup. in the name of the Society. Mr Alfred Horne, as the winner of the Society’s three guineas trophy for freezing lambs, said he would be very pleased to give one of similar value, to bo also won throe times, not necessarily in succession, and to he competed for as the Committee thought most suitable. —Mr Foster moved a very hearty vote of thanks to the respective donors of such handsome trophies, which showed an excellent spirit on their part. Nothing was more calculated to stimulate competition titan a cup or like trophy.—The vole was appropriately acknowledged.
