BERLIN, Dec. 17. In connection with the recent seizure of German property by a British warship on the island of Abu Musa, 'r Moenckhaua, senior partner of the German firm involved, declares that the action of the gunboat Lapwing, in making the seizures was unjustifii; .able, since there were no coal or firefirms on Abu Musa. The firm worked k only oxide mines under legal conP tract to Moenckhaus. It is believed that the incident will soon be Bottled amicably. (A week or two ago a British warship seized coal, scores, arms, and the products of oxide mines belonging to a German firm on the island i of Abu Musa, in the Persian Gulf, i on the ground that they were contraband of war. German and English firms hold concessions from rival ’ sheikis, each of whom claims authority over the island. Soma Berlin newspapers angrily attributed the action to British jealousy because of the competition of German shipjung companies.) ‘
