Harriers.
The weekly run of tne local Club took place' yesterday from the residence of Mr W. Wade, Elles Road. There was a large attendance, and the day was a superb one for the sport. St. Paul and Wade were the hares', and the captain and doputycaptain acted as whip and pace respectively. The trail was laid north to Tweed street, thence over the paddocks to the racecourse, on towards the Waihopai anjd Rosediale, where the trail ran out. . The hbanecoming was very pleasant in many respects, for the i % .un had been quite nine miles, and Mrs Wade and her daughters had a tasty repast waiting for the Harriers, who thereafter remained to a social meeting at which they displayed thoir vocal and elocutionary power.- After a very pleasant titpe, Captain Paape, on behalf of the Club, "thanked the host, hostess and family for providing an.entertainment which was greatly appreciated; by all present. Three hearty cheers brought Jto a close one of the best runs of the season.
