Received 15th, 7 p.m. Gregory just succeeded in getting a couple over the century before being dismissed. He attained his thousand runs for the tour half an hour after Darling had registered his four figures. Jones played a fine innings for 34, as did Trumble who carried out his bat for 45, the total for the first innings being 584. Leicestershire have lost one wicket tor 26. July 15. Received 16th, 0.40 a.m. Darling batted for 6| hours and gave, only two chances. His score included oue hit for five and 21 fours.
