«. [Bt Telegraph.] Wellington, Oct. 21. The following are the vital statistics for September : —
The deaths of persons not residents of boroughs occurring at hospitals have been excluded, in all cases. The total births in above boroughs amounted to -176, against 502 in Angus*, h ing a decrease of 26. The deaths amounted to 175 in September, being an increase of 27 on the uubiber for August. Of tho above deaths males contributed 99, females 76.^ Sixty-nino of the deaths were of oTiJlcirou under live years of age, being 3943 per cont. of tho whole number. Forty-three of these were of children under one year of age.
