Mitchell and Co. report :—We had an entry of 45 horses at our weekly sale in the Prince of Wales yards on Saturday last. The various classes were fairly well represented, and although the demand could not be called brisk it was a decided improvement on the previous week’s market, and nearly the half of the entry changed hands at current rates. We anticipate a much improved demand for useful farm sort within the next few weeks as the ploughing becomes general. Amongst the sales effected were draughts at £35, £29 IBs, £27, £25 (2), aged stale sorts from £lB 10s to 30s for done animals. Hacks and light harness horses ; Upstanding reliable harness horses are still in good demand, as also are good spring-carters, which arc scarce. Useful harness sorts brought £l6, £ls 10s, £l4, and £l2 ; lighter and aged brought £B, £7 5s (2), £7, and £5 10s.
