(From Correspondents & Exchanges), The Glendhu Timber Co.’s mill and plant is to be sold as a going concern at Mataura on Tuesday next. Apart from the bush now being wor'ked, there is 400 acres maiden bush available. It is intended to dispose of 30,000 feet of timber in lots to suit builders and joiners. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. offer a line of 80 horses at Gore on 18th and 19th Oct. The Winton Record refused to publish a football match report because it was understood that the match was played on a Sunday. Well done, Record ! There is far too much Sunday sport. Only last Sunday in Invercargill a' number of youths were playing a flve-a-side game on the Union Grounds. Where are the police ? A dredge hand at Waikaia went, through the court recently. His total liabilities amounted to £72 2s lOd. He appears to have been .unfortunate, as his doctor’s account ran close on £ls. Another sawmill is to be started at Black Cleugh on the Eastern side of the Blue Mountains. Tapanui horse parade only mustered two draughts and three light horses.
