INVERCARGILL HORSE MARKET

Messrs J. A. Mitchell and Co. report : —We had an entry of over 30 horses last Saturday, including’ a number of very good draughts. Tho attendance was rather small, and although the demand was not too brisk, we placed considerably over half of these horses entered at prices ranging from £35 to £45 for sound young draughts, active aged animals '£2o to £3O ; old and stiff £8 to £ls. Spring-carters brought £l6 5s to £24. The entry of hacks and light harness horses was a very poor one. and those forward being' of a very description sales were effected only at very low prices.- For sound, young, upstanding reliable hemess horses, there is inquiry, and fair prices can be got for animals of this class.
