INVERCARGILL HORSE MARKET
Messrs J. A. Mitchell and Co. report that they had an entry of 43 horses on Saturday last. The attendance was small, and the demand not nearly so brisk as has been the case for the past three or four weeks. However, by auction and privately they managed to place a fair proportion of the entry at the llnte rates. The following arc some of the sales effected and prices obtiained, viz. : —One bay mare, 5 years, by Agitator—dam by Lord Lyon. £47 ; one bay gelding. 5 years, £3B r one do, 4 years, £.36 10® ; one do, £33 ; one aged gelding, £27 ; one do, £23 ; old and stale to £5. Hacks and light harness horses : One stylish six-year-old mare brought £l6 _-1-Os-;—others '£lo (2), £6, and weedy old sorts to £4.
