SOUTHLAND FARMERS’ CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION

'Thursday, sth September. The directors report very fully o tithe year's operations, and a considerable advance has been made. Since .July last 1249 new shares have been taken up. A new property has been acquired at Otaufau, and a business site at Lore has been purchased. The .Invercargill store has been added to in order to meet the growing demand for storage room. .Every effort is being made to cater for all departments of /armors’ business, and large stocks of groceries, hardware, etc., are, now carried at Invercargill, Gore Otautau and Uiversihile. The Association started in June,; 1901, with a staff of two employes, and has now thirty-two hands, besides the 'heads of departments. The manager, Mr Carr, has every reason to be proud of the success attending; his generalship, and the fanners recognise that, if is to their interests to support their own association. During the present week, a now seed - cleaning plant, has been put down, and is now running daily dcalling all sods of seeds, Jt is the latest ‘design, oml the most modern appliances arc- being used to ensure the best returns. Fanners in search of good, reliable seed, true to name, will find the “Farmers’ ”■ samples equal to the best in the colony.
