The annual meeting wins held in Allen's Hal! on Wednesday evening last, and the room was much too small to. comfortably accommodate the large attendance. Mr .1. .7. Wesney presided, ami after reading a couple of apologues—one from Mr J. S. Baxter, who is recovering from an attack of influenza, and the other from Mr .1. Crosby-Smith, who is ia Wellington at present as a delegate to the Employers' Conference —read the report and balance-sheet in connection with both groups.

A very satisfactory, state of affairs was disclosed, and in his remarks the chairman said that since the Society had been in existence shey had not incurred a single loss on property, and complimented the secretary (Mr E. B. Pilcher), on the careful way in which he looked after the interests of the Society, and thought the time was not far distant when another group—the third— would bo started. The shareholders were well satisfied with the position of the Soand adopted the report and balance-sheet without discussion. A vote of £lO was made to the President (Air J. .1. Wesney), and the directors’ and auditors’- fees were fixed at £l2 each. The election of officers followed. There were four required, and six had nominated. The. result of the pull was as tinder : •1. J. Wesney, 809 ; J. S. Baxter, 274 ; A. Bain, 253 ; R. Galbraith, 194 : J. C. Smith, 132 ; A. S. Froggatt, 3 23. The ■■l33st appropriation, by ballet in group No, 1 fell to ball No. 60, held by two members, and the 47th appropriation by sam passed at the upset (£3 0 per £T00) to one member The 48th appropriation by ballot in Group No. 2 fell to ball No. 118, held by swo members, nnd the 3 47LIT appropriation by sale in the same group realised £4O for £IOO and £lOl for the remaining £4OO.
