INVERCARGILL HORSE MARKET

Messrs J. A, Mitchell and Co. report as follows : We had a fair attendance at our weekly sale last Satutday, and had an entry of 35 horses. These consisted mostly of indifferent draughts iwith two or three useful spring carters and hacks and harness horses of the ordinary class. For sound young draughts there is strong inquiry and anything of this description entered met with very good competition. Although a number of inferior draughts changed hands the prices were low. [Useful spring carters and superior light horses are inquired for, and when offered sell well. The following are some of the sales effected, viz : [Useful draughts at £34 to £26, aged and stale £2O to £5, spring carters (£27 10s to £l7 10s, hacks and harness horses £l7 10s to £5. We quote ;—Superior draughts at £4O to i£so, and tip-top light harness horses at £2O to £3O.
