The Campbelltown Council hol'd their fortnightly meeting on Monday, 3 2th inst., there being - present. His Worship the Mayor (Mr C. A. Whealler) and ,Crs.. Cruickshank, Hinchey, Walker, 3). McKenzie, A. McKenzie, Nichol and Parsons. The Fire Brig-ade submitted nominations for to fill vacancies caused by the retirement of W. Frears and S. Crofts. A resident in Ann street wrote complaining - of the foul state of drain on South side of street. —To be informed that the Council is adopting a scheme for piping the principal drains in the borough, and that Ann street is one of those included in the scheme. Decided to ask the S.F.M. Co. to allow a siren to bo attached to steam valve for the purpose of being used as a fire alarm.
Resolutions were passed to the effect that a loan of £3OOO he raised by a special order, for sanitary purposes, and that section 29, Block I, Campbell town Hundred, ht purchased from the S.F.M. Co. as a sate for septic tank. Inspector instructed to see that joints in the main drain on the foreshore be repaired. Inspector reported that an owner had been called on to pay a fine for allowing a cow to wander in the borough. Accounts amounting to £6O 11s were referred to the Finance Committee.
