The usual fortnightly meeting of Court Star of the South was held on Thursday evening. There was a largo attendance of members, Bro. C. W. Patton presiding. The usual business hawing been transacted, the C.K. announced that the J.B. Bro.. Parker had entered the bonds of matrimony, when the officers of the Court were invited to the wedding. They all travelled to Kdendale to witness the ceremony, and enjoyed themselves very much. Bro. Patton considered this was an opportune time to give a lecture on unity, which was listened to attentively. Four candidates were initiated and fourteen proposed, there being now 20 an embers waiting for initiation. It was decided to hold a special meeting on Saturday evening, August 17th, for the purpose of initiating new- members. The cribbage tournament for prizes offered by Bros. Grkham and 11. King has been the mtans of causing great excitement.. There are 23 members in the tournament, which is now drawing to a close, and great speculation is evinced ia.s to who will be the winner. The tournament will he continued after the initiation on Saturday evening, ■August 17th.
