The fortnightly meeting of the Gampbelltown Council was held on Monday 15th inst. Present His Worship the Mayor (Mr G. A. Wheallei), and Crs. Hinchey, McPhail, D. McKenzie, Cruickshank, and Valentine. A number of residents in Elizabeth street petitioned the Council for_ an additional street light. A petition was also received from residents of Burrows street, asking for formation of street. —The petitions were referred to the Electric Light and Works Committee. A resident complained of the furious riding of cyclists on Barrow st. footpath.—lnspector instructed to keep watch. An application from the Fire Brigade for requisites was referred to the Fire Brigade Committee, T. W. Parry applied for a few loads of soil —to be supplied when available. An application was received from H. Hamilton for a few loads of top dressing for footpath in private street. J. McLaughlan's tender for quarrying and crushing 500 cubic yards of metal was accepted.
