It was stated at the meeting- of the Lothingland Rural Council (reports the London Mail) that in four years the sea had destroyed at Pakefield property of the assessable value of £4ll, and that about £2OO payable in rates had been lost. The property represented a value of £IO,OOO to £12.000, and in addition acres of building- land had disappeared into the se a : and there was every probability that one or both sides of Pa'kcfield street would be washed awav.
