The Jubilee of St. Catherine’s Convent, Invercargill, was marked by an entertainment given in Victoria Hall on Friday evening, 14th inst. The building was packed by an audience whose expectations ran high. Their hoper were amply gratified, for the programme submitted by the promoters was exceptionally good, and excited frequent and emphatic tokens of approval. Miss May Woods made a vex'y favourable impression with her instrumental and vocal contributions —her first appearance here —and the lady proved to be only one of a numerous company whoso efforts made up a n exceedingly pleasant evening. They were Mesdames Power and D. Kingsland, Misses Jean Mathie&on, Bell, Sheehan, Hamilton, Collins and Meredith, and Messrs Mockeridge, Ferguson, Lilli crap, J. R. Webb, and Co D kson, while the everpopular "Idlers - ’ belied their name by the readiness with which they satisfied clamorous demands for further items.. Taken altogether, the concert was most enjoyable, and a credit in every respect to all concerned .
