There passed away at his residence, Waianiwa, on Thursday morning, April 25th, Andrew Ronald McDermid, at the early age of 34 years. The deceased, who followed the blacksmithing trade for a number of years l was forced to give up, and visited Central Otago, from which he derived considerable benefit, and later worked on his father’s farm until his health again gave way. Andrew was a long- and patient sufferer, and passed away peacefully, as stated above. The funeral, which took place on Sunday was one of the largest seen in the district. The Oddfellows (of which deceased" was a member) turned out in strong force. Bro. T. Findlay, P.P.G.M., read the burial service at the grave. The Rev. A. D. Kirkland officiated at the houpe and grave in a very feeling manner. The family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends.
