SOUTHLAND BOARD OF. EDUCATION. NOTICE. ANNUAL ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES, 1907. IT IS HEREBY publicly notified that the annual meetings., of householders in the several School Districts of the Education District of Southland for the election of a School Committee in each such District respectively, will be held on MONDAY, the 22nd day of April, 1907, at half-past seven o’clock p.m,, and that the newly-elected Committee in each district will hold its first meeting - immediately on the termination of the public meeting of householders. Special attention is directed to Section 105 of “The Education Act, 1904,” which provides that in Districts where the average attendance of the School for the year ending December, 1906, has not exceeded twenty-five children, the electors shall nominate and elect a committee of five members ; where the average attendance has exceeded twenty-five, and has not exceeded two hundred, seven members shall be elected ; and where the average attendance has exceeded two hundred, nine members shall be elected. PLACES OF MEETIEGr ; The Respective Schoolhouses in each School District. NOMINATIONS. Householders are requested to forward in writing, so as to be delivered to the Chairman of the School Committee of their district not later than 8 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 15th April, the names of persons, being resident householders, nominated by them for election to serve upon the Committee for the year next ensuing. 'Such nomination shall be signed by the proposer and by the candidate, and must be in the form set forth in the ninth Schedule appended to “The Education Act, 1904” or to the effect thereof. The Board directs the special attention of the Chairman of School Committees throughout the district to Sections 107 and 110 of “ The Education Act, 1904.” JOHN NEILL, Secretary.
