MACMAHON’S DRAMATIC SEASON. A NOTABLE EVENT. The dramatic season which the Messrs Macmahon will inaugurate at the Municipal Theatre on Monday, next, promises to be characterised by. novelty in every department. While many favourite members of the old company remain, they have been reinforced by a number of new engagements recently made in Australia, so that the combination is claimed to be one of the strongest touring the colonies. Provision has been made for the up-to-date mounting of the four pieces to be presented during the season of four nights only. “ The Price of Sin,” the piece selected for the opening night, has proved highly successful in the chief centres of New Zealand, and its initial production in Invercargill on Monday next seems destined to attract all those who relish good, wholesome drama, lavishly staged, and capitally interpreted. ‘•The Yellow Peril,” now causing a furore in Dunedin, will be presented cln Tuesday, with the elaborate production of “The Executioner's Daughter” on Wednesday. A' special bill will bo presented on Thursday evening, which will bring a notable season to a close. Advices received from Christchurch state that notwithstanding such powerful counter attractions as the Exhibition aind the intercolonial band contest, the houses attracted to the Theatre Royal have established records for melodrama in that city. The box plan for the season is now open at the Dresden. The Company's popular manager, Mr Davies, has been in town this week making the necessary arrangements, and the various holdings have received a better display of pictorials than has been their lot for Some time.
