SHAMROCK, ROSE AND THISTLE LODGE.
The report for the year ended 31st December, 1906, is now before members, and shows that Southland’s pioneer branch of the Manchester Unity is in a very satisfactory position.

This amount, with interest on securities, etc., brought the receipts to £1126 15s sd. Sick Allowance : £405 17s ( 2d, which, with other items, including District Levies, Depreciation on. Property, Trustees' Account, etc., totalled as expenditure £604 17s lid, leaving the credit balance 31st December, of £9,626 2s 2£d, or a net increase of £461 T7s Gd for the year's working. This amount was materially helped by the extra contribution of a farthing per week, which brought in £ls 19s 9d, Lodge Relief Fund. —This, the "Benevolent’’ fund of the Lodge, is also in a satisfactory position, being in credit £7l 16s 2d, as against £63 14s 6d, the balance of last year, and despite the fact that Relief Votes amounting to £l3 11s 7d have been disbursed during 1906. Wealth of Lodge.—£lo,694 0s 6d. Membership.—The actual membership at the end of the year was 361. P.P.G.M. Bro. Smith, chairman of the trustees, reports on their behalf
as under —Twelve meetings were held. A sum of £1,450 was advanced during the year. During - the same period loans and instalments of loans to the amount of £622 were received, the total advances 1 now standing at £9821 16s 7d.
Interest on advances has been received to the amount "of £469 3s Id. At the 31st December there was unpaid the sum of £2 11s lid only. This constitutes a record.
Your Trustees must congratulate the Dodge on the exceedingly satisfactory ■ financial position attained, the Sick and Funeral Fund showing a net gain for the past year of £461 17s 6d, and this is in face of the fact that £2O was written off the capital value of the hall, in terms of the resolution 1 passed some years' ago. Owing to business engagement s, P.(4. Bro. F. A. llenzies, who has discharged the duties of Permanent Secretary for the last year has resigned, and the members will shortly be called upon to elect a successor. Bro. llenzies, who graduated from the juvenile branch, has proved himself an enthusiastic Oddfellow and efficient official.
