THE LATE MR D. BLUE.
A MEMORIAL SUGGESTED. Mr Thos. Howard,, of Waihoaka, whose love for music is well-known, writes mggesting that steps be taken to honour the memory of the late Mr D. Blue, and adds : —'"ln years gone by many of as enjoyed the fine music discoursed by Mr Blue, and I am sure all who have done so will welcome the suggestion that funds should be raised to erect a headhtone on the grave of one who was not only one of the finest, players that ever drew the bow over the strings of a violin, but a thoroughly genial and genuine man as well—kindly, modest, and generous. I am lorwarding you a postal note for five shillings by way of giving a start to the fund, and shall be glad if you will take charge of the subscriptions.” We have much pleasure in complying with Howard's request, and invite those interested to ..end along donations to this office as> early as possible, which will be duly acknowledged in this column. £. s. d.
