SAVIERI DRAMATIC COMPANY.
This talented little company- presented “Jessie Brown, or the Relief of Lucknow’’ to a very large audience in the Few Theatre on Tuesday evening, and the parts were taken in a creditable manner. The scenery was good, and the acting fisst-class, and one and all were well pleased with the performance. Mr P. Savieri made a capital British chaplin, and he has a happy knack of carrying his audience with him. Miss Betteston Glover was well placed as “Jessie Brown,” and her acting was much admired, white other characters were, in good hands. The final scene in the Relief of Lucknow, where the pipers lead on by Mr McGregor, and followed by a detachment of soldiers, was cheered to the echo.
On Wednesday evening “ The Shaughi-aun” was staged to- a large audience, and everything passed off in fine style. Country residents will have a chance of seeing the company perforin in their own towns, and should not miss the opportunity. They appear at Winton on January 10 th.
