DUNEDIN MARKETS.

The markets are thus reported on for the week ended Dec. 7 :

Fat Cattle —Prime bullocks sold at L 8 10s to LlO 17s 61 ; medium to good, L 6 10s to L 8 ; light, L 4 10s to L 6 ; prime cows and heifers, L 7 to L 9 ; medium to good, L 5 to £6 10s ; light and aged, £2 10s to £4 10s. Pat Sheep—Prime crossbred wethers and maiden ewes, 14s to 15s 3d ; medium to good, 12s to 13s 6d ; light, 10s to lls 6d ; prime shorn crossbred wethers and maiden ewes,

11b to 12b ; medium, 9s 6d to 10b 6d; prime crossbred ewes to 10s 9d. Wheat —Quotations are : Prime northern velvet and Tuscan, 3s 8d to 3s lid ; prime southern do, 3s 3d to 3s 8d; medium quality milling ia practicably unsaleable ; chick wheat (good whole), 2s7idto2s9d; broken and inferior, 2s to 2s 4d per bushel (sacks in terms). Oats—The markets show a slight upward tendency although no quotable advance has taken place. There is a good demand for prime feed at la lOd to is lid. Prices : Prime milling, Is lid to 2s Id ; good to prime feed, Is lOd to Is 10 jd ; fair to medium do, la 9d to Is 94d; inferior and discoloured, -Is 6d to Is 8d per bushel (sacks extra net). Chaff—Supplies coming forward are more than sufficient to meet the requirements of the trade, and prices in consequence have receded somewhat. Prime samples are saleable at up to L 3 ss, but light and inferior are difficult to quit. Quotations : Prime oaten sheaf, L 3 to L 3 5s ; light and inferior, L2 10» to L2 17s 6d per ton (off trucks, sacks extra, net.)
