The anglers on Boxing Day enjoyed some excellent sport on the Opihi. Mr D. J. Caldwall, of Timaru, was very successful, securing a 7 pounder and several other good fish. Our Albury correspondent writes that the weather in that district has of late been very favourable to the growth of all kinds of vegetation, and heavy crops are assured. It is hoped that no more heavy rains will occur or some of the heavier crops must go down. Patches are to be seen that have been laid already. A few days ago the railway ganger at Seadown reported that at 7 a.m. on the 19th he found a stone 61bs in weight on the line. The matter was referred to Sergeant Fraser for investigation with the result that Mounted Constable Crawford arrested a lad at Seadown at noon yesterday for committing the offence. The lad is to come before the court this morning. The best medicine known is SANDER & SONS’ EUCALYPTI EXTRACT.
