The King of Harvesters. IMPORTANT TRIALS. RAKAIA, R ANCHOR A, SEPTON, ASHBURTON. To-day a trial of the Buck-eyc Lightfolding Elevator Binder will be given in Mr King’s paddock at Rangiora, which farmers in Sefton and Rangiora districts are invited to attend. Cutting will commence at half-past two o’clock. On Thursday, at West Eyreton, a public trial has been arranged between a number of reapers and binders in Mr W. Robinson’s paddock. The Buckeye Elevator Binder will compete, and every opportunity will be given for thoroughly testing the capabilities of this machine. To-day two exhibitions of the Lowdown Buckeye will also be given ; one at Acton Station, Eakaia, and another in a paddock adjoining the Show-ground at Ashburton. Gentlemen who are interested in the introduction of a new type of harvesting machinery will do well to watch these trials. The Buckeye Lowdown is equally at home on the stillest cultivatable hillside, or the proverbial Canterbury plains. It is lighter in draught than any of its competitors, and will surpass them in all round usefulness. The first public trial was held at Weedons on Friday last, when the following testimonial was signed Weedons, Canterbury, 4th January, 1889. We have to-day seen both the Buckeye Elevator and Lowdown Reapers and Binders at work in Mr P. Mannion’s paddock of oats. Both machines wore worked by two horses with the greatest ease; and although the crop was heavily bottomed with clover the work of both machines was exceedingly good throughout, and the stubble remarkably even and clean.
