The juvenile population are much excited by the arrival of Woodyear’s Circus. The Company arrived from Temuka this morning, and the horses and gear came on, some by road and some by special train, Mr Woodyear’s family is an extensive one, comprising 20 equine and 40 human performers. Owing to bad weather, the performance is unavoidably postponed until to-morrow evening. Tbe Chairman of Levels Koad Board announces that the Opihi and Pareora have been rendered impassable for horse and dray traffic for the present, owing to the recent floods Mr T. Roberts, architect, has left Timaru and struck out in a new lino of business. He has new method for deodorising sewage before it leaves the premises of householders, and has found favor with the Christchurch City Council in introducing his invention in Christchurch. The ballast pits on the Fairlie Creek Extension haying been completely swamped by the late rains, work has been suspended for a time. The National Mortgage and Agency Company have received the following telegram from their Loudon office " The frozen sheep ex British King arrived in fair order, and sold at an average of old per lb, inclusive of half carcases.
