Christchurch, Oct. 31. The following scralchinga have taken place : Free Handicap— Mischief, Emir Bey, Tim Wln'ffler, and Hippodaraia. Riccaeton Handicap— Emir Bey and Mischief,
Training Notes—Hippodanoia went once round, at the mile post picking up Emir Bey, the pair doing a strong gallop coming home at top speed both moving well. Adamant and Tasman did serviceable work for three miles at three quarter pace. Hyacinth and Taiaroa with clothing on worked steadily, twice round, Molly Bawn doing same distance. Lady Emma had a serviceable gallop twice round. The Jilt, The Poet, Minerva, and Painter covered two miles at half pace. Liverpool and Master Agnes did a good gallop once round. Talebearer and Charmer wen t half a mile at a rattling pace, and afterwards cantered a mile
and a half. Trinket and Trumpeter did once round at three quarterspecd. Sun- ■ light travelled once round at a smart pace, and Johnny Faulkner indulged in steady work. Lady Emma did a serviceable gallop twice round, and July covered four miles at an easy pace, the Watersprite colt accompanying him for a mile and a half. Die by Grand, with ruga on, negotiated three miles at three, quarter pace, Hercules cantered four miles, and the Wave filly came half a mile at nearly top speed. The following is the latest betting;

THIS DAY, Good work was done on the course this morning. The gallop of the morning was that of Hippodamia, who covered the cup distance at top speed, accompanied by Trinket for the first mile, and Emir Bey the second, the mare going in excellent form. The Jilt and Poet did two aud a half miles at three-quarter pace. Tasman went twice round at a steady gallop, and Adamant was treated to gentle exercise for a mile and a half. Lady Emma did a serviceable gallop for three miles, finishing at a strong pace. Welcome Jack and Envious did steady work twice round. The Watersprite colt, and Miss Flat filly came half a mile at top speed, as also did Marion and Ugly Buck, all moving in very good style. Violin, Molly Bawn, and Sunlight did a fast three-quartsis of a mile. Talebearer and Charmer, with colors up, did serviceable work once round. Liverpool and Leopold cantered a mile and a half. Taiaroa and Hyacinth went once round at a strong pace, and Wild Boy and Prospero compassed three miles fast.
