At the Conference on the Land Bill, it was agreed to compromise on the following basis Purchasing danse not to apply within the goldfields, but to apply to all other leased lands. In the residence danse, youths residing with their parents to be allowed and also adults residing on adjoining lands. In the McKenzie clause • a proviso was added that the mortgagees may hold, by themselves or managers, but not for a greater period than three years. TheWakatuPatea, Sept. 12.
