HARBOUR BRIDGE COMMISSION.

A VISIT TO WARKWORTH.

On Sunday last the members of the Harbour Bridge Commission, consisting of Messrs F. W. Furkert, Marchbanks, and Capjain McDonald, visited Warkwbrth and district. They were accompanied by Mr S. J. Elliott. The object of the visit was to get a personal knowledge of the district served by a bridge over the harbour, and to decide if the shorter route via the East Coast would induce the traffic to come over that route. The Commission took a run to the foot of the Whangaripo Hill via Matakana, and then returned and went on to Wellsford, returning home via the West Coast. They were met, unofficially, by officials of the Rodney County Council. Members of the Commission expressed their pleasure at the development of the district, and keenly noted the apparent effects of top dressing.
