A Narrow Escape at the Cement Works,
,On Monday morning, Mr Bert Young was carrying out his duties as a greaser at the . Cement Worts. As usual he was wearing the tight fitting overalls which minimise the risks attending the ocoupation. Out of a pocket hung some cotton waste. While passing a shaft, a bolt caught in the waste, and Young was hurled round. Fortunately a worker, whose name we have not yet heard, was in the vicinity and to his quickness and strength^Mr Young Qweg hi§ life, i Catching h,o}d of the einperille'd man, by majn force he pulled him clear. Young's clothes were liberally torn off him, only one boo| remained. jn p}ace. It was foun4 th.at Mr "?ou.ng liacl received mapy contused wounds. He was removed home, and is nqw making good progress under the care of Mr Shoesmith.
