Notes from Mangawai.
Mr J. B. Fletcher, who gave a considerable time has acted as representative for the Kauri Timber Co., is leaving the district for Maungaturoto, where he intends to commence farming. Mr and Mrs Fletcher and family ■will be greatly missed.
Mr Masson, in the few months he has had charge of theMangawai school, bas won the appreciation of the parents for his efforts for the advancement of the children.
Mr Trigg has arrived to take up the duties of the pastorate of the Congregational Church. Hitherto the district has not had a resident minister ■within, her borders.
Mr Alf. Williams was requested to defend the goal of the Hakaru hockeyites, but a fortnight ago the host of Mangawai's hostel had the misfortune to repeive a kick in. the chest f rqm a foal, and he has to take things easy. Preparations are in hand for an Juvenile Fancy Dress Ball.
Wintle Bros, have found their bread go much appreciated, that their oyen has Jxad to be enlarged to cook the heavy batches. They supply the re* quisito staff of life for the workers on the main work of the North Auckland railway extension.
