FRENCH-GANADIAN POOR SHOWING
Reuter. Received Sept. 12, 9.1 d a.m. Ottawa, Sept. 11. Seventy per cent of the halt naillion promised by Sir W. Borden have enlisted. Alberta and British Columbia have supplied their full quotas. The Quebec province makes the worst showing, having contributed only a quarter of its allotment.

The Scottish miners claimed a shilling increase daily. Lord Strathclyde has awarded sixpence per day.
