A GIRL MURDERED.
United Press Association—By Elee«ri« Telegraph—Copyright. Sydney, March 5. The body of,a girl named Esther Porter, 14 years of age, residing at Bankstown, was found near Punchbowl railway station with her head battered in and other terrible injuries. There are indications that she was murdered. Porter was last seen in the vicinity of the Punchbowl station on Monday morning, when she returned from visiting her mother in the hospital. The body was covered with hushes and it is believed she was outraged before she was murdered. Tramps are suspected. Received March 6, 11 a.m. Sydney, March 6. Tiie Porter tragedy is clueless. Her road home was through scrub and apparently she was decoyed into the hush. There are evidences that a desperate struggle took place. The mon6y and a basket she was carrying are missing. She was the daughter of a well-known family, a general favourite in the district, and of exceptionally fine physique.
