The truth is that there is widespread aversion to diverting religious funds to secular purposes. Therefore a concession~ought to he made. Mr Bonar Law, leader of the Opposition in the Commons, writing to a correspondent, declared that the Unionists did not intend to impose a tax upon colonial wheat.
