Received December 16, 1 p.m. London, December 15. The Observer authoritatively states that illness compelled Admiral Sir S. F. Bridgeman to he absent for weeks when the international situation was critical, and Mr Churchill had no alternative hut to suggest his resignation. The Observer adds that ftbe Admiral’s declining promotion was absurd.
