STANDARD TARGETS.
NEW ZEALAND RIFLE SHOOTING. Per Press Association. Wellington, November 22. A proposal made by the chairman of the New Zealand Rifle Club’s Executive, H. Marshall (president of the Karori rßifle Club) in regard to the much debated figure targets, has been adopted. A standard set of colours for the target has been provided for gthe whole of the Dominion. The figures themselves are also to be cut to a standard size, shape~and colour. Perforated sheets of pa’tches will also be supplied. The material will be stocked by the Defence Stores, and those requiring it will apply in the usual manner. The commandant has agreed to issue it free of charge so that Rifle Clubs will shortly, at the minimum of expense and be able to keep their' targets up-to-date and in conformance with the conditions for the Trentham meeting. One of the "greatest objections to figure target ; in tire past has been variety of colours and shades in which it appeared in different ranges in the Dominion. gUnder the new idea, however, exactly the same class of figure will iu use in every raugejfiu New Zealand.
