IS IT A HOAX?

United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright Perth, November 23. Advices from London, dated October 25th. state that aboard a Great Western railway tender at Plymouth a bank draft was found, for forty thousand, payable on sight to Charles Harconrt, at Sydney. The draft was issued iu London in August by the Bank of New South Wales, and was found after the tender had been used to land the American passengers of the Oceanic. There was no passenger named Harcourt, and such a loss was not reported. Sydney, November 33. Referring to the Perth message, the officials of the Bank of New South Wales are of opinion that it is a hoax. No draft for £40,000 has been issued to anybody named Harcourt, and it is unlikely that such would be unclaimed.
