MARTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The committee met last night. Present: Messrs- J. J. McDonald (chairman), H. H, Richardson, E. Lloyd, W. Gomez, R. B. Ryder, F. Purnell and A. Way (secretary). Rev. Porter was appointed to supervise the annuaPexamination for certificates of proficiency on Friday, 6th December, It was decided to present prizes only at the breaking-up, and the school sports will be held at the opening of the new school; The secretary was instructed to arrange for a picture concert on 11th December in order to raise funds for school prizes. Messrs McDonald, Richardson and j Way were appointed to arrange a programme for the opening ceremony of the new school and report at nest meeting.' , The headmaster reported as follows .-—Attendance: Primary 128.4 | boys, 126.8 girls, total 255.2 out of; 137.5 boys, 1-10.5 girls; total 278. , Secondary J 6.8 boys, 9 girls, total 15.8 out of 8 boys, 9 girls, total 17. Side school: 43 out of a possible attendance of 45.
