DEATH OF DR. WITHERS.
Per Press Association. Wanganui, March 18. Dr. Withers, house surgeon of Wanganoi Hospital, eucoumbed this morning to an attack of typhoid fever, said to have been contracted when treating a Maori patient suffering from the same disease. Deceased was aged 24, and bad only been in charge about two months', having succeeded Dr. Fergus, resigned. The body is to be conveyed to bis old home at Southbridge, Canterbury.
