The 'weather was fine and there was a large attendance at Randwick to-day. A hostile demonstration was made against Poseidon after winning the Cumberland Stakes, “he having performed very indifferently in the Autumn Stakes, one and a half miles, run on Saturday last, when the placed horses were:— Tartan, Dyed Garments, and Peru. Results :
Easter Stakes, 7 furlongs: Kuban 1, Little Lad 2, Vavasor 3, There were eight starters. Won by a long length. Time, Imin 29)^sec. Cumberland Stakes, two miles: Poseidon 1, Tartan 2, Peru 8. Won .by five lengths, with Peru 15 lengths away. Time, 3min 34^sec. City Handicap, miles : Earanaud 1, Waipuna 3, King’s Cross 3. Eighteen starters. A good race. Won by a length. Time, 2min^39sec.
Second Hurdles: Blue Streak 1, Louise 2, South Head 3. Eleven starters. The placed horses crossed the last fence together and a great race home resulted, heads only separating them at the finish. All-Aged Stakes, one mile : Mountain King 1, Tangaroa 2, Matchmaker 8. Won easily by two lengths. Time, Imin 41%sec. Coogee Handicap, nine furlongs: Agrea 1, Lammora 2, Climax 3. Twenty-two started.. There was a fine finish between the placed horses, Agrea winning by a short head with Climax only half a length away. Time, Imin 55^sec. Rotorua fell In the hurdle race and broke his neck.
