A fault on the Thames Valley Power Board’s 11 k.v. line caused the power to be off for some considerable time on Friday. Owing to the strong wind a. pine tree was blown over the line on Mr- King’s property at Puketurua, and it was some time before the fault could be located. Power was restored on the Puketurua section at about 6 p.m., other parts of the district being livened up early in the afternoon It is suggested that if people seeing a broken conductor or trees over lines were to notify the troubleman where the fault is, considerable time and benzine would be saved and power restored much quicker, thus saving a lot of inconvenience to consumers.
