56 Cows Average £l4/10/Grade Jerseys £22/10/Quality cows were fully appreciated by a large bench of buyers at a clearing sale conducted by Newton King Limited on behalf of Mr. W. D. Bethune, of Pukeatua, on Friday last. The herd was well known for its production records over a period of years, and this, combined with type, quality and constitution, helped to make this one of the mostsuccessful sales of the season. Individual butterfat performances were announced at the sale. All the highproducing cows realised from £l6 to £22/10/-, three cows bringing £2O or over. The offering of 11 pedigree cows sold freely to 25 guineas, other sales being from 12 guineas to 23 guineas. The whole herd of 56 cows realised the great average for a .November sale of £l4/10/-. The three-year pedigree Jersey bull Waipiko Victor went to a Te Awamutu huyer at 71 guineas. A two-year-old brought 20 guineas. An offering of porker and store pigs sold fully up to recent rates.

Ready Demand For Dairies Baconers And Porkers Firm f At the weekly stock sale of the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company on Friday there was a medium yarding of fat and store sheep, comprising chiefly ewe mutton and shorn store hoggets. Competition remained steady and values on a par with recent sales. A small offering of 'beef sold at unchanged values, while a large entry of boner cattle maintained steady competition and sold freely. There was a large entry of dairy cattle, including the advertised herd on account of Mr- T- J. Michie, and bidding - came freely, the whole herd realising the satisfactory average of £lO 3s. All classes of quality dairy cattle, close to profit, met a ready demand. A small yarding of store cattle comprised chiefly empty 2-year Polled Angus heifers and empty cows, for which bidding was steady. There was a full entry of all classes of pigs, with competition for baconers and porkers very keen at values fully up to those ruling last week. Stores and weaners were not demand and prices were easier. Realisations were: — Heavy fat ewes, 13s to 14s 6d. Lighter, 11s to 12s 6dI Medium fat wethers, 22s 6d to 24s 6d. Dairy cattle were yarded in average numbers and sold before a good bench of buyers but values were somewhat lower on recent sales- Pigs came forward in good numbers and sold at ruling values. DALGETY AND COAt Dalgety and Co.’s Morrinsville stock sale on Friday there was a ■full yarding of cattle, including the full advertised lines ex Gisborne. Bidding was not particularly brisk owing no doubt to the inclement weather conditions, but nevertheless the whole line changed hands under tihie hammer at satisfactory prices.
