ADDINGTON STOCK SALES Christchurch, Last Night. r At the Addington market yesterI day entries of sheep were the same ' as last week. Store sheep sold well ! at advance, better class ewes, lambs, II and fat lambs also advanced in prices. Fat sheep were easier ; fat cattle sold better, stores dull of sale ; porkers, firmer ; bacon pigs, easier ; store sheep, slightly irregular towards the close. Lambs, forward rape 13s to 13s 9d, extra 14s to 14s lid, fair, rape 11s 9d to 12s 9d, fair average 10s fid to 11s fid, medium stores 9s 9d to 10s 3d, inferior 9s to 9s fid, small 7s to 9S fid, culls 4s fid upwards. Ewe lambs 14s, ewes 2 tooth 13s 3d, 2, 4 and 6 tooth 14s to 15s fid, and 8 tooth 13s fid to 16s 3d, 2 and 4 tooth 14s 4d, 2, 4 and 6 tooth 12s fid to 13s 9d, 4, 6 and 8 tooth 6 tooth 16s to 17s fid, extra halfbreds 19s lid, sound mouth ewes, good class, 16s to 17s, sound mouth medium 11s 6d to 15s, full and failing mouth 9s to 10s aged 5s to 8s fid, wethers 13s fid to 15s 9d, others including small 2 tooths 12s to 13s sd. Fab lambs operating competing keenly, further advance, fid to Is per head due to better quality, lambs, best, 17s to 20s fid, lighter 14s Id to 16s fid. equal to sjd per lb., for standard weights 5d to Sid, overweights and second quality fat sheep, prime wetbers, 18s to 22s fid, lighter 16s fid, to 17s fid, prime ewes 16s to 20s, medium 13s fid to 15s fid, aged, light, 10s 7d to 13s. Pat cattle—prices 22s Gd to 80s per 1001 b according to quality. Bteers £8 6a to £lO 10s, extra £l4 ids, heifers £6 10s to £9 ss, cow-* £6 5s t 6 £9 7s fid, store yearlings 325, 15 to 18 months £2 17s fid to £4 1«, 2 year heifers £4 5s to £4 15s, latter extra good. WELLINGTON WOOL SALES Wellington, Last Night. At the sales there was an excellent selection of crossbreds and a fair selection of merinos. There, was a large attendance and keen competition, all sections operating. Compared with January casing rates merinos were par to 6 per eent- higher. Best crossbreds were unchanged, others 5 pbr cent higher. The advance was most marked in the coarse grades.

BUTTER AND CHEESE MARKET The following cablegram has been received from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, dated Loudon, Ist Mireh, 1913: - Butter.—The market is quiet but steady. There is a general and active demand for best quality. The average price for the week for choicest New Zealand per cwt. is 117 s (salt'd); 119 s (unsalted); Australian, Ills; Argentine, 1103; Danish, 1335; Siberia, 110 s. Cheese.—The market is firm. The average price for the week for finest New Zealand cheese per cwt., is 60s 6d.
