WELLINGTON WOOL SALES Wellington, Last Night. At the sales there was an excellent selection of crossbreds and a fair selection of merinos. There, was a large attendance and keen competition, all sections operating. Compared with January casing rates merinos were par to 6 per eent- higher. Best crossbreds were unchanged, others 5 pbr cent higher. The advance was most marked in the coarse grades.

BUTTER AND CHEESE MARKET The following cablegram has been received from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, dated Loudon, Ist Mireh, 1913: - Butter.—The market is quiet but steady. There is a general and active demand for best quality. The average price for the week for choicest New Zealand per cwt. is 117 s (salt'd); 119 s (unsalted); Australian, Ills; Argentine, 1103; Danish, 1335; Siberia, 110 s. Cheese.—The market is firm. The average price for the week for finest New Zealand cheese per cwt., is 60s 6d.
