ARRIVAL AT CAPETOWN EXTRAORDINARY INTEREST Capetown, March 1. H.M.S. New Zealand has arrived. The Union Government will entertain the men at Grootschuur. Lord Gladstone, the Governor-General, will give a banquet in honour of the officers. E’our days’ festival has been arranged. Special excursion trains are running conveying thousands to inspect the New Zealand. The “Cape Argus ’’ points out that New Zealand has given a vessel which might turn the scale in a great battle, while South Africa is still deliberating.
