ADDINGTON STOCK SALES Christchurch, Last Night. Large entry of store sheep, fat sheep and lambs. In other departments the average in store sheep ! showed an improvement in young {ewes and rape lambs. Fat lambs 1 sold at improved rates ; in consequence the demand on the part of graziers took the bulk of offerings. Prices for fat sheep were easier : fat pigs at last week’s rates, store cattle dull. Store sheep—ewe two tooth (small) 15s 6d to 16s 6d, two tooth medium 18s, six tooth 17s to 18s 6d, six and , eight tooth 16s to 17s, two, four, six and eight tooth 13s lid to 15 Id, sound mouth (good) 14s to 15s 6d, extra 17s, fair sound mouth 12s to 13s, full and failing mouth 7s, inferior 12s, medium merinos 12s 10d, lambs good rape sorts 13s to 13s 6d, extra 15s Bd, fair 12s to 12s Bd, average stores 10s to 11s 6d, medium 9s 6d to 10s 3d, small 8s 9d, culls 5s to 5s 9d, ewes 14s, halfbred wethers 9s 3d to 15s, average sorts 12s, forward wethers two and four tooth 14s to 16s, small two tooths 12s lOd, better class same age 13s 6d to 14s 3d. BUTTER AND CHEESE MARKET The following cablegram has been received from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, dated London, 23rd February, 1913 : Butter,—The market is firmer. There has been a favourable change in the weather, which is cold. Continent are buying unsalted. Choicest New Zealand 116 s per cwt. (salted); choicest New Zealand 119 s (unsalted); Australian 112 s; Argentine 110 s; Danish 131 s ; Siberian 110 s. Cheese. —The market is firmer. A moderate demand. There are complaints of the quality of New Zealand cheese this season. The average price for the week for finest N.Z. cheese, per cwt., is 60s 6d; Canadian 645; English Cheddar 745.
