AXEMEN'S CARNIVAL.
THE CANVASTOWN GATHERING. Very aatisfactory entries have been received for the Axemen's Carnival to c be held at Oanvastown on Saturday, rj 18th April, the total to band on Satur- g day being 91. It is probable a few late entries will be received. Although no men from outside the Nelson and Marlborough districts have entered all the champions of both Provinces figure in the list, and some splendid contests are sure to take place. The date for receiving nominations for the Boys' Chop has been extended to 81st March. , Messrs Brown and Kerr have donated a medal for competition at the Oarnival. Tha, Club will hold a ball shortly, probably early next month. The handicaps will be declared on 24th March, and acceptances close on 81st. NOMINATIONS. Maiden Standing 15-in. Chop.
