EXCEPTION WORTH NOTING.
One of those positive men who are prolific in human maxims for the guidance of mankind was holding foith to a group of listeners at a London street corner a few (Sundays ago: “ Never tell your dreams,” he said. “They interest nobody but yourself,, and they merely indicate some mental weakness on the part of the dreamei.” “ Yes," replied one of the listeners, after a pause. “ what a fool old John Bunyan was u> tell that long dream of his about the pilgrims!” “ I understand,” remarked the polite reporter to the manager of a railway noted for the unpunctuality of its trains, “that there was an accident on your railway last night.” “ Oh, do you P" was the sarcastic reply. “ Yes, sir.” “ Do you know anything about it ?” “ Only that it happened to the train which was due here at 8.15.” •' That train came in to the minute, sir.” said the manager, firmly, “ Are you sure of that ?” *• Of coarse I am." “ Thanks. That must have been the accident referred to,” and the reporter dodged out safely.
