If the Weekly Sun is right there is yet much to be done before the motor oar will be available as a satisfactory means of traffic. Our contemporary has a long article on steam buses, from which we take the following: “ "We have just as much faith in the future of motor vehicles as most people, but it is essential to look at the present position of the industry from a practical and not an ideal point of view. We therefore assert most emphatically that not a single really satisfactory motor car has yet been put on the market. The electrict motor must nearly attatn the requsite standard, but the expense of running them under present conditions completely debars them from general use, and very great strides wiil have to be made in the direction of improved accumulators and greater facilities for recharging before they can be regarded as a practical factor in the solution of the Well-known problem of mechanical traction. The oil motor has a great deal in its favour, and in our opinion will be the first to come to the front, ‘at something will have to be inv nted to supersede the gas engine i/pe of motor before any solid progress id be claimed for it.
