Boating Fatality.

Wellington, February 1. Three labouring men named William, Mander, Alex Mein, and William Hooket w ho had been fishing to-day in an open boa off Kaiwarra, were returning early this afternoon, when a.squall caught the boat between Kaiwarra and the Thorndon Esplande and capsized her. All the men clung on to the boat until she righted herself, when Mein lost his hold and was drowned. The other men were picked up. February 2. The man who was drowned last hight was Alex. Mein, aged 45, Mechanical Engineer, and Secretary of the Wellington Branch of the Amalgamated Soctety of Engineers.
